It read more all started with a hideous morning. My alarm clock decided to break, and I was running around like a chicken without its head, trying to find the right thing to wear.
Then, on my way to school/work/that important meeting, I stumbled and sprained my ankle! It was absolutely horrible. I had to call a taxi, which never showed up, and when I finally arrived at my destination, everything fell apart. My boss/teacher/friend was annoyed with me, and the rest of the day just became a nightmare.
To top it all off, I lost my phone in a bottomless pit, and it was officially toast. By the end of the day, I just wanted to disappear. This was definitely the absolute worst day ever.

We tried our best/put in a valiant effort/gave it our all, but it was no use/didn't help/came to naught. It was like chaos reigned supreme/a hurricane swept through/the world decided to conspire against us. Honestly, it's a miracle anything worked at all/survived/remained intact after this whole predicament/situation/fiasco.
